I had an amazing time working at Manual High School on the administrative team during the 2010-2011 school year. The experience opened my eyes even more so to the great work that must be done to ensure an excellent education for every child, in every classroom, in every community across our city. We cannot rest on the gains that have been made because there is still much to be accomplished. We have the capacity, as a community working in collaboration focused on the articulated mission of the district to achieve much more. We cannot rest or be satisfied.

I see greater achievement when we are able to own the challenges and create the successes together. I see greater gains when all stakeholders understand and are held accountable for their critical roles. This can't be about adults defending other adults. It can't be the same old arguments of charter vs. traditional school, union vs. district, scapegoating of teachers, posturing and politics as usual. This has to be about a shared commitment to ensuring an excellent education for every child, in every classroom, in every community across our great city! This is about moving TOGETHER. This is about moving FORWARD. This is about ALL CHILDREN in Denver Public Schools.
